Knoxville McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) is the main transportation access point to Knoxville and the east Tennessee region and it serves more than 1.5 million passengers each year, most of who are tourists.

Knoxville Washington International (TYS) is small, compact and easy to get around and has Arrivals, Baggage Claim and Ticketing all located on the first floor, with the second floor reserved for Departures. The first floor also has a bank, tourist information desk, ATM machine, travel agent and car rental agency booths, while the second floor houses most of the restaurants, cafés, bars, the business center and VIP lounges. Shoppers will be a little disappointed with the offerings at McGhee Tyson. There is a small but quality gift shop selling souvenirs and local goods, while a newsagent has a wide range of print media. As TYS is a domestic airport, there is no duty-free shopping.
Bars, Cafés and Restaurants
Unlike its shopping, TYS has a great range of restaurants, cafés and bars serving quality local (grills) cuisine. Most of the eateries and drinking establishments are located on the second floor in Departures.
Currency Exchange, Communications and Banking Facilities
There are no currency exchange or bank facilities but a few ATM machines are spread around the terminal, mostly on the second floor. The business center can arrange overnight courier services.

Disabled Facilities
Knoxville McGhee Tyson (TYS) fully complies with ADA standards. There is plenty of convenient handicapped persons' parking located near to the terminal and accessed via walkways with ramps and railings. Inside the terminal there are ramps, elevators, modified telephones and special toilets to cater to the needs of all disabled visitors. Wheelchairs and assistance can also be arranged through the airport information desk.
