Knoxville McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) has three parking lots plus a Phone and Wait Lot, with a combined total of over 3,000 spaces. The new Economy Lot and the older Short-Term and Long-Term lots are all within easy walking distance of the main entrance of the terminal building.

There is plenty of thoughtfully positioned disabled parking for vehicles with the appropriate identification, which unfortunately is no longer complimentary. Security is tight, with 24-hour guard patrols and bright lighting.


You have three options for paying your parking fee. The most convenient is the Pay and Go system, where you take your ticket with you to the terminal and pay as you leave at one of two credit card machines or by cash at the airport Information Desk. Pay and Go users can exit via special gates with just a swipe of their paid-for ticket. You can also pay by cash or by credit card as you leave the parking lot. The airport accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Diners Club and travelers checks. Short-Term

Located nearest to the terminal building, the Short-Term parking lot features almost 1,000 parking spaces and is extremely convenient. Ramps and crosswalks lead to the main entrance as well as to Arrivals and Ticketing.

Long-Term

Behind the Short-Term parking lot is TYS's massive Long-Term parking lot, with space for over 2,200 vehicles. Leaving your car here for long periods is made safe by the parking lot's tight security, featuring CCTV cameras, guard patrols, excellent lighting and 24-hour monitoring.

Economy Lot

Located farthest away from the terminal building is the Economy Lot, which provides even more parking options for visitors. Low rates and relatively easy access makes the Economy Lot popular with people departing on vacations or long trips away.

Phone and Wait Lot

Situated well away from the terminal on Airport Loop is the Phone and Wait Lot parking area, where visitors wanting to pickup passengers can wait until they call. The passenger can either use their own phone or one of the several courtesy phones situated outside the Baggage Claim area.

Disabled

With plenty of ramps, all parking areas at Knoxville McGhee Tyson are easily accessible by persons with impaired mobility. Your airline can arrange wheelchairs and airport staff are only too willing to lend assistance. Special parking areas in each lot are reserved for vehicles with proper handicapped identification, for which parking is complimentary.
